We carry out all types of inspection work from periodic electrical inspections to landlords certificates. E.A.W.R. (Electricity at Work Regulations) compliance to insurance / mortgage inspections  for house purchase or mortgage retention release purposes.  Certificates issued to iee 16th edition wiring regulation BS 7671 .

Electrical inspection and testing is required to verify that electrical installations comply with the electricity at work regulations and any other general or local guidance, such as BS 7671. This level of inspection, testing and reporting is provided as part of the installation requirements for all new works and existing works.

Electricity at work regulations also demand that in-service electrical installations should be inspected periodically to ensure there is continued safe operation and this is being more and more demanded by licensing authorities for commercial premises, by insurance companies and by mortgage lenders.

Options to companies.

bullet The law simply and justly, demands that electrical systems used at work are safe and places that responsibility squarely on the shoulders of employers and employees alike as designated duty holders. Employers and employees could find themselves involved in litigation over matters for which they did not even realise they had a responsibility.
bullet It is true that a competent in-house electrician could perform the electrical inspection and testing and produce a certificate. Also, management and engineering staff can, and do, perform the overall assessments, develop plans and programs, forecast budgets, vet contractors, develop contracts and let contracts, control the contractors on site, manage the budget and payment system, perform technical appraisals of the results, manage the remedial repairs, control the documentation and databases, liaise with operational staff, provide upward reports and more…

The collective quantity of time taken away from the core business can be considerable. In addition to the EWAR task most in-house staff will have other core business duties, which may take priority resulting in the EAWR task becoming unfocused and prolonged causing budget overspends and extensions of time. The duty holder responsibility remains in-house.

bullet Significant cost saving and efficiency gains can be realised by outsourcing to a insurance trained engineer surveyor. In-house staff are free to focus on the core business.
